“I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me…”
As an intergenerational church, our children are part of all that we do. They are welcome and are part of our worship and our shared life together. To love and support our children and families, we have a variety of offerings.
For Our Children & Families
In Worship - Children of all ages can stay in worship if they’d like. We have a soft corner towards the front of the church for children and parents. It includes a carpet and pillow.
Children may also participate in worship by serving as a Crucifer or being a Reader.
Nursery: Babies, toddlers, and Pre-Schoolers are able to go to the nursery during the service and enjoy some playtime. This can also give their grown-ups time to rest and focus on their own spiritual needs.
Children’s Formation: Twice a month and during worship, our elementary-aged children are welcome to attend our Atrium. This is a Montessori-based program in which children learn about our scriptures, our history, and the teachings of Jesus.
Through Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, we recognize that children already experience God and the sacred. What Catechesis does is help the children to form language around those experiences.
Youth: Currently, we do not have a program for our Middle School and High School students. We do, however, invite them to participate in worship by volunteering during the service as a Reader, Crucifer, or through our Digital Ministry Program
Intergenerational Offerings:
Whether it is during our Fall Church Retreat to
Shrine Mont or helping in Our Community Garden or being part of an Outreach Project or caring for
our Church Home, The Atlee House…
our children are part of who we are.
